About the Recipe

My step-mother used to make this every Christmas when I was a kid, and it was my favorite. She put a quarter in it that was supposed to be lucky for whomever found it, but I don't, because money is gross and dental work is expensive.

You don't even need a recipe for this one. Use your favorite boxes yellow cake mix, substitute 1/4 - 1/3 cup wine for the same amount of water, and bake per the instructions on the box. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Ingredients

1 Boxed yellow cake mix

1/4 - 1/3 cup white wine

Preparation

Step 1

Follow instructions on box, EXCEPT substitute 1/4 - 1/3 cup white wine for the same amount of water.

Step 2

Bake per instructions on box.

Step 3

Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
